Set in a rural location in the pretty village of Newington, Alexandra House is a beautiful place to stay if you are looking to bring your family and friends together for a reunion or celebration. Original features meet sophisticated luxury with highlights including a cosy living room with a wood-burning stove, five spacious bedrooms, an enchanting garden, a large lawn and BBQ. Should you wish to explore beyond the abode walking routes begin from the door or you can enjoy day trips to Oxford, Henley-on-Thames, Blenheim Palace and the Cotswolds.
The space
This elegant and characterful manor house is set over three floors and boasts a delightful combination of charming antiques and homely interiors.
The fully-equipped kitchen is complete with everything you will need including two ovens an induction hob, a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. A large dining room comprises a ten-seater table and provides the perfect setting to enjoy family meals. If you don't feel like cooking or are celebrating a special occasion a private chef can be arranged via our Guest Services team.
Meanwhile, the comfortable living room is the ideal place for the whole group to gather for a movie night on the Smart TV or a catch up beside the wood-burning stove. The room is adorned with unique antiques, two comfortable sofas and a door leading directly to the private garden.
There is also an additional playroom with two sofas, a large beanbag and a great selection of books, toys and games to keep younger guests entertained.
Venture upstairs to the first floor where you will find three individually designed bedrooms with cosy interiors and characterful charm. The first bedroom features a zip and link super-king-size bed with an en-suite shower room, while the second and third bedrooms also feature zip and link super-king-size beds and share the hallway bathroom with a shower over the bath. Venture up a further set of stairs to the second floor where there are two additional super-king-size bedrooms, one of which features an en-suite bathroom. There is also a hallway bathroom with a walk-in shower.
Outside, there is a perfectly manicured garden with box parterre, a beautiful stone gazebo and a ten-seater dining table. When the sun is shining, fire up the BBQ for a delicious feast with a refreshing G&T in hand.
The owner is happy to allow guests to use their tennis courts by prior arrangement and they can provide canoes to use on the river at the bottom of the garden.

The owners will greet you on arrival and show you into the property or self-check-in is available if you prefer.

Please note that the garden is not 100% fenced off, therefore dogs and children must be supervised at all times due to the river beyond the garden. There is also a beehive (located within a very old brick wall and fenced off) which may pose a risk for anyone allergic to bees.
Deposit: Bookings are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the booking value plus applicable booking fees with the balance payable 60 days before the date of travel.
Accidental Damage Deposit: To maintain the highest standards in our properties, guests will need to pay a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £750 prior to their stay.
Book with confidence: If your booking is affected by new Government travel restrictions which were not known at the time of booking, and you are legally unable to travel, we will arrange with the property owner to refund 100% of your holiday cost.
