Positive: Got a glass of wine on check-in, and then a free bottle of some blue drink on ice delivered to the room - so nice touches. Porto Moniz feels a bit like the end of the world (in a good way for a night) so a quality and colourful hotel is great. Good view from the room and also from the stand alone bath. Staff very friendly and breakfast buffet good if not huge.

Negative: Evening meal menu very limited so ate out, but would have done anyway so didn't bother us. Indoor pool not huge and quite busy. Outdoor pool not heated so un-usable end on November. None of these actually bothered us, and it's a very good hotel.
