The building is a unique tropic canalhouse filled with details from the golden age like an elegant marble entrance. On the bordes of the house you can sit down at the famous bench and feel if you are living here. You will sleep great as you are in a very peacefull environment.
The canal house Porto Rico is very old and build by a trader who got rich by doing business with the tropics in the golden age. Now a sustainable designstudio made hot spaces designed with cool design traded in a fair way. Its the new economy based on social en circularity.

The location at the canals is next to the river Amstel, the Hermitage Museum and the flew market. The shops, the cultural attractions and the interesting spots are on walking distance. On the other hand located next to the students quarter supplies you with a lot of great bars and restaurants.

Parking in Amsterdam is expensive, so we advise you to park your car at a P&R and take the public transport from there.

Please note: The bed consists of two single beds which are made as a double bed.

Due to legal requirements in relation to the bed & breakfast permit granted by the city council of Amsterdam it is not possible to lock your room door. However, the main entrance to the building of course can be closed.
If you wish to check-in to the apartment between 20:00/8PM and 08:00/8AM, this is possible. Due to the late hour we do charge an extra fee of 25 euros between 20:00-23:00 or 50 euro’s between 23:00-08:00. Thank you for your understanding!
