The canals and old avenues are being restored more and more. You can embark on a boot cruise of The Hague or the neighbouring municipalities. Those who like to discover on their own can hire canoes and explore the waterways themselves.
Transport
A 5-minute walk from the international train station. By tram or train you are within 20 minutes by the sea, 15 minutes in Delft, 25 minutes in Rotterdam and 50 minutes in Amsterdam. Not only a perfect location for your visit to The Hague, but also a great base for visiting The Netherlands. Almost everything is a 10-minute walk away, all trams and buses stop in the immediate vicinity. Nearby you can also rent a bike. The Peace Palace is a 10-minute bike ride and Scheveningen beach is just 20 minutes away.
Within 5 minutes you will be in the shopping area and in 10 minutes at the King's work palace, the government buildings (Binnenhof), Mauritshuis, Escher Museum, the antique market at the Lange Voorhout (every Sunday). Do not forget to look at The Hague town hall (architect Richard Meier) commonly referred to as the Ice Palace, which also houses the public library and tourist information.
