Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Portsea Hotel offered great accommodation, right on the beach with spacious rooms. We particularly enjoyed the view on the water and modern furnishings of the historic building. The Beds and linen were very comfy. The little touches of complimentary mineral water, slippers, robes and tea/coffee/biscuits were lovely additions. The location was great with only a short drive to the hot springs and other seaside towns such as Sorrento. There was EV charging available onsite too. We ran out of time to try the on-site restaurant but would stay here again.

Negative: There were only some minor things which we would recommend for improvement. There was a loud generator/humming noise right near the front of the building which echoed in the room. If we weren't so exhausted from driving and doing activities, we would have found it difficult to sleep with. The steps into the room were also quite noisy/would creak a lot so it was hard to leave the room without waking others. The concierge also kindly showed us our room but didn't offer to carry our luggage up the floor so this could be noted for future guests, particularly if elderly. Lastly, we would have loved the option for breakfast room service or late check out in busy periods.
