Positive: My wife and I wanted a room for the night so that we could visit Duxford aerodrome and the Old Red Lion seemed to fit the bill. When we booked, booking.com said there was only a twin room available so we opted for that. Upon arrival, seeing we were a couple, we were immediately offered a double bedded room without even asking. The room we had was large and well furnished. The bed - oh yes, the bed —— couldn’t fit it in my case so had to leave it. Shame really because it was so comfortable. We stayed for supper so that I could have a couple beers without worrying about driving. The meal was lovely and our server was a young lady working her first ever shift. She was watched over to make sure things were done properly. That was something that I liked about the place; they have a policy of helping young people take their first steps in the world of hospitality which is most commendable. Breakfast was unhurried with a good selection to choose from, not that I could do it justice after the previous nights meal. We will be returning to the area in a couple of months time and the Old Red Lion will be our first choice for accommodation.
