Town: On the heavily forested banks of the River Tamar, the charming rural community of Gunnislake is located. Village bars and a number of shops are available. The Dartmoor town of Tavistock, with its pannier market, pubs, and restaurants, is close by, as is the well-liked fishing village of Calstock, known for its crafts and festivals. It takes only 10 minutes to get to the Donkey Sanctuary and Cotehele House and Gardens (NT). There is something for everyone, whether it be a round of golf at St Mellion (8 miles), a visit to the restored Victorian mining village at Morwellham Quay (4 miles), a walk along the Tamar Valley footpath to look for otters and deer, a trip to the National Trust-owned Lydford Gorge, or a trip to the beach and charming harbour at Looe (25 miles).
