Summary: This was by far the most unique and cool place I’ve ever stayed. The room we booked was for large groups and it was the entire tower you see in the picture. There are a lot of stairs and it is a stone spiral staircase. Smaller rooms are also available in the other part of the castle but I did not see them because there was another guest. The owner is the one doing the renovation and it’s not completely finished yet but the rooms that he has finished are stunning. Looks and feels like a medieval castle. Germany has rules about modern luxuries when restoring castles so some things like the shower and toilet are unique but completely functional. The hosts were extremely helpful answering questions about the town and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was great both days and they had it ready early since we told them we had an early morning train to catch. Downtown is very walkable and old town is definitely worth the trip. So many quaint Biergartens. Simply an amazing find.
