La Poulatte is a beautiful 18th century country house with 21st century facilities. With spacious bedrooms, a double Salon/Drawing Rooom, Dining Room and a large Kitchen, La Poulatte is the perfect relaxing holiday destination. Before I purchased the house in 2010 it had been in the same family for 200 years, so is the perfect gathering place for family and friends alike. the parc garden is flat and open and so perfect for children, as is the enclosed pool area.
The ground floor consists of a large Hallway, off which is the kitchen corridor, containing the Kitchen, ancillary rooms and a full bathroom with a washer and a dryer. The kitchen has a full size american fridge freezer, a double electric ovens large gas oven with a five hob gas stove top. There is of course a microwave oven. There are several different types of coffee machines including a Nespresso and various other types of kitchenalia such as mixers etc. There are double doors opening out on to the kitchen garden.
Off the main hall is the Salon or Drawing Room, formerly the Salon and Library, now one large room. This room is equipped with three sofas and two armchairs, plus a table and chairs (see photos ) There is a large TV and a DVD player together with over 300 dvds. Double doors open out onto the Long Terrace which is west facing and has a long table to seat 16+. The pool area is visible from this terrace.
Off this room is the Dining Room with its large elegant oak dining table.There is a sideboard with a toaster and a Nespresso machine. The Dining Room leads into the well equipped kitchen.
Upstairs is the Bedroom Corridor, off which are six large bedrooms and two large bathrooms. Bedroom 1 has a 160cm bed and a 90cm bed. Bedrooms 2 to 5 have 160cm beds and bedroom 6 has twin 90cm beds, usually made up as a 180cm bed. There is a separate washroom/loo at the end of the corridor. At the other end of the corridor there are double doors leading out onto a terrace overlooking the parc and pool area.
Up another flight of stairs is a separate washroom/loo. Further up is the second floor with yet more bedrooms and a shower room. One bedroom contains a 140cm bed and overlooks the terrace. The other bedroom is the dormitory which contains 2 bunkbeds, 2 single beds and 2 double beds. The house sleeps a total of 21 people. There are also two baby cots, standard Ikea size
